Ron Miriello to Receive National AIGA Fellow Award
Now that the phone call has been verified to not be a prank, it’s official – Ron Miriello will be in New York City on September 18 to receive an AIGA Fellow award.
The Fellow award program is a means of recognizing mature designers who have made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within their local or regional design community as well as in their local AIGA chapter. The areas of education, writing, leadership and reputation, as well as the practice of design are given equal consideration. The San Diego AIGA nominated Ron for his three decades of contributions to the Southern California design community.
The fifth annual Design Legends Gala will be held at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers on September 18. Also attending will be Ron’s wife Marlane and his son Ben, now attending Sarah Lawrence College in New York. Also receiving a Fellow award from San Diego is MaeLin Levin from Visual Asylum.
